Swing with a view - one day in August

August 29th was a breezy but bright day in San Francisco. We had a quiet day. Our only outing was to the local playground.

On this same day  Josie, Sian and Eva - travelled to Bangladesh to see the work Save the Children
I'm sure what they saw would contrast greatly with the pleasant happy scene at our playground.

"I want to swing facing the view, Mummy" Geekygirl asked. So she did. It must feel even more like flying than usual, when the playground is on the top of a hill and the whole of the Mission district out to Twin Peaks is quite literally at your feet.

That's such a great photo! I love the angle.

We spent the day on Angel Island a couple of weekends ago and I loved it. Have you been? I couldn't believe the views from the island - we could see the entire city, it was just wonderful.

My old lab used to have a picnic there every year, and I have run a 10k round the island too, back in the day. haven't been for ages though must take the kids!

Oh wow, amazing view and amazing photo. I'm laughing, as I tried to take a similar photo of my daughter a few months ago, in a park at a place called Dukinfield. Not as well known as San Fransisco admittedly, but amazing views across the moors. They were too far away to really be seen though. This, on the other hand, is stunning.

My 'secret' is that I took about 50 shots with my camera in 'sports' mode, and I nearly got knocked flat by the swing several times, much to the amusment of other parents at the park!
